Camera Issues

Resolving issues when the camera doesn't work.

Symptoms

  • Camera screen is black
  • "Cannot access camera" message
  • Camera freezes or is slow
  • Shutter button doesn't work
  • Front/back switching doesn't work

Solutions

Step 1: Check Permissions

  1. Device Settings > Apps > WorkCam
  2. Permissions tab
  3. Check if Camera permission is Allowed
  4. If not allowed, change to Allow

Step 2: Test Camera in Another App

Check if the camera works in other camera apps.

  • Works: WorkCam app issue
  • Doesn't work: Device or hardware issue

Step 3: Close Other Apps

Another app may be using the camera.

  1. Open recent apps list
  2. Close apps that can use camera
  3. Relaunch WorkCam

Step 4: Restart App

  1. Completely close WorkCam
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Relaunch

Step 5: Restart Device

  1. Restart device
  2. Relaunch app

Step 6: Clear Cache

  1. Device Settings > Apps > WorkCam
  2. Storage > Clear Cache
  3. Relaunch app

  1. Check for debris on camera lens
  2. Check camera permission
  3. Test camera in another app
  4. Restart device

  1. Clean camera lens
  2. Maintain appropriate distance from subject
  3. Tap screen for manual focus
  4. Check lighting

  1. Check flash settings (make sure it's not OFF)
  2. Test flash (flashlight) in another app
  3. Restart device
  4. If still not working, may be hardware issue

If above methods don't resolve the issue and camera doesn't work in other apps either:

  • May be a device hardware issue
  • Contact device manufacturer service center

Prevention

  • Keep camera lens clean
  • Maintain free storage space
  • Regularly update app
  • Prevent device overheating
