Guide to using the barcode scan feature.


Overview

The barcode scan feature recognizes various 1D barcodes and reads their information.

EAN-13 General products (13 digits)
EAN-8 Small products (8 digits)
UPC-A North American products
UPC-E Small North American products
Code 39 Industrial
Code 128 Logistics, shipping
ITF Logistics boxes
Codabar Libraries, blood banks

How to Use

Step 1: Enter Barcode Scan Mode

  1. Open the camera screen
  2. Tap the Barcode scan icon () on the side
  3. Barcode scan mode is activated

Step 2: Scan Barcode

  1. Align the barcode in the scan area at center of screen
  2. Camera automatically recognizes
  3. A beep sound plays and result is displayed when recognized

For Fast Recognition

  • Adjust distance so barcode is clearly visible
  • Make barcode fill the screen
  • Ensure sufficient lighting
  • Check barcode is not damaged

Step 3: View Results

When scan completes, the following information is displayed:

  • Barcode number: Scanned numbers/characters
  • Barcode format: EAN-13, Code 128, etc.
  • Related actions: Search, copy, save, etc.

Inventory Management

  1. Scan product barcode
  2. Add quantity note
  3. Tag for classification (incoming/outgoing)

Equipment Management

  1. Scan equipment asset barcode
  2. Note location and status
  3. Record with photo

Logistics Tracking

  1. Scan invoice barcode
  2. Record shipping information
  3. Add location tag

Batch Scanning

To scan multiple barcodes consecutively:

  1. Enable Continuous scan mode
  2. Scan barcodes one by one
  3. Each scan result is added to list
  4. Tap Done button when finished

Barcode Scanning Tips

When recognition fails

  • Move closer to the barcode
  • Make lighting brighter
  • Adjust angle so barcode doesn't reflect
  • Clean dirt from barcode surface

Faded barcodes

  • Poorly printed barcodes may be difficult to recognize
  • Use original barcode when possible

Troubleshooting

If barcode is not recognized

  1. Check barcode is not damaged
  2. Make lighting brighter
  3. Make barcode larger in frame
  4. Check focus is achieved (tap to focus)
  5. Check barcode format is supported

If wrong number is recognized

  1. Check barcode is clear
  2. Scan again from a different angle
  3. Check no part of barcode is blocked
