Setting Default Category¶
This guide explains how to set a default category that is automatically applied when capturing.
What is a Default Category?¶
When you set a default category:
- The category is automatically assigned when capturing
- No need to select a category every time
- Improved work efficiency
How to Set¶
Step 1: Open Settings¶
- Navigate to the Settings screen
- Go to Camera Settings or Default Settings tab
Step 2: Select Default Category¶
- Tap the Default Category item
- A list of categories will be displayed
- Select your desired category
Step 3: Setup Complete¶
The selected category is now set as the default.
Setup Complete
All captured media will now automatically have this category applied.
Removing Default Category¶
If you don't want to use a default category:
- Go to Default Category settings
- Select None or No Selection
- Category selection screen will appear when capturing
Usage Scenarios¶
Scenario 1: Site Visit¶
During Site Work
- Capturing all day at a specific site
- Set that site's category as default
- All photos are automatically classified
- Change the default when visiting the next site
Scenario 2: Specific Task¶
During Regular Inspection
- Set "Inspection Records" category as default
- All photos captured during inspection are automatically classified
- Remove or change the default after inspection
Scenario 3: Team-based Settings¶
Team Defaults
- Facility Inspection Team: "Inspection Records" default
- Construction Team: "Construction Site" default
- Each team member sets according to their work

Important Notes¶
Default Category Considerations
- Setting a default category applies to all captures
- Manual change required when a different category is needed
- Don't forget to change the default when your work changes
Changing Category After Capture¶
To change the category of media saved with a default category:
- Select media in Gallery
- Go to Edit or Info tab
- Change category
- Save
