This guide introduces Workcam's media organization system using categories and tags.

Overview

Workcam allows you to systematically organize your media using two methods: Categories and Tags.

Categories vs Tags

Aspect Categories Tags
Structure Hierarchical (like folders) Flat (like labels)
Quantity 1 per media Multiple per media
Purpose Primary classification Detailed classification, search
Examples Site Photos, Inspection Records Urgent, Completed, 1st Floor

Understanding the Organization System

Categories

  • Classify media into broad groups
  • Each media belongs to only one category
  • Mutually exclusive classification like folders

Category Examples

  • Site Photos
  • Inspection Records
  • Work Logs
  • Material Management

Tags

  • Attach multiple labels to media
  • Express various attributes simultaneously
  • Enable cross-referencing searches

Tag Examples

  • Location: 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, Rooftop
  • Status: Urgent, In Progress, Completed
  • Type: Crack, Leak, Damage

Combined Usage

Using categories and tags together enables powerful organization.
