Permission Settings

This guide explains the permissions required for WorkCam to function properly and how to configure them.


Required Permissions List

How to Set Permissions

During Onboarding (First Launch)

When you first launch WorkCam, the onboarding screen guides you through permission settings.

Onboarding Permission Settings

  1. Review the list of permissions on the onboarding screen
  2. Tap Allow for each permission you want to grant
  3. Tap Next to proceed after setting permissions

You Can Change Later

Don't worry if you skip or deny permissions during onboarding. You can always change permission settings later in the app.


Changing Permissions Later

You can allow or revoke permissions anytime in Settings > Permissions.

  1. Open WorkCam and tap the Settings icon
  2. Tap Permissions
  3. Toggle each permission on or off as needed

Permission Settings

If Camera Permission is Denied

Camera permission is required for capture features. If denied, you will be prompted to enable it when trying to use the camera.


Detailed Permission Descriptions

Camera Permission

Features Requiring Camera Permission

  • Photo capture
  • Video recording
  • Document scanning
  • Barcode/QR code scanning

Permission Options:

  • Allow: Camera access while using the app
  • Deny: Cannot use capture features

Microphone Permission

Features Requiring Microphone Permission

  • Sound recording during video capture
  • Voice memo attachment

Permission Options:

  • Allow: Microphone access while using the app
  • Deny: Videos recorded without sound, voice memos unavailable

Location Permission

Features Requiring Location Permission

  • Recording GPS coordinates in metadata when capturing
  • Displaying capture locations on map
  • Location-based media filtering

Permission Options:

  • Always allow: Location access even in background (not recommended)
  • Allow only while using the app: Location access only when app is open (recommended)
  • Allow only this time: One-time permission
  • Deny: Location data not recorded

Privacy Protection

Location permission is optional. You can turn off location permission when capturing at sensitive locations.


Notification Permission

Features Requiring Notification Permission

  • Cloud sync progress status
  • Upload/download completion notifications
  • Sync error notifications

Troubleshooting Permission Issues

"Permission required" message keeps appearing

  1. Completely close the app
  2. Change the relevant permission to Allow in system settings
  3. Relaunch the app

Permission setting options not appearing

On some devices, if you selected "Don't ask again", the app cannot request the permission again.

Solution:

  1. Go to device Settings > Apps > WorkCam > Permissions
  2. Manually grant the required permissions
