Frequently asked questions about cloud sync.
Basic Information¶
Is cloud sync required?¶
Required?
No, it's optional.
You can use the app locally without cloud sync. However, we recommend using cloud for backup purposes.
Which cloud services are supported?¶
Supported Services
Currently supported services:
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- OneDrive
- Box
- Nextcloud
- ownCloud

Can I use multiple cloud services at once?¶
Multiple Clouds
Yes, you can connect multiple services simultaneously.
You can set a default service to specify the auto-sync target.

Sync¶
Sync is not working¶
Sync Failed
Check the following:
- Internet connection
- Cloud connection status
- Auto sync settings
- Sync conditions (Wi-Fi only, etc.)
- Cloud storage capacity

Sync is slow¶
Slow Sync
Possible causes:
- Slow network speed
- Many files uploading simultaneously
- Large file being uploaded
Solutions: - Use Wi-Fi connection - Reduce simultaneous upload count (in settings) - Lower upload quality

I'm worried about mobile data usage¶
Data Usage
In Settings > Cloud:
- Select Wi-Fi Only option
- Set mobile data usage limit
This will only sync when connected to Wi-Fi.

If I delete from cloud, does it delete from my device too?¶
Two-way Delete
Depends on sync mode:
- Two-way Sync: Deleting from cloud also deletes from device
- Upload Only: Deleting from cloud keeps file on device

Storage¶
Running out of cloud storage¶
Storage Full
Solutions:
- Delete unnecessary files (in cloud web/app)
- Empty cloud trash
- Lower upload quality (save space)
- Upgrade to paid plan

If I delete from device after sync, do I free up space?¶
Local Delete
If you delete a synced file from your device:
- Device storage is freed up
- File remains in cloud
You can also use the Delete After Upload option in Settings > Cloud.

Security¶
Is data stored in the cloud safe?¶
Cloud Security
- SSL/TLS encryption during transfer
- Each cloud service's security policies apply
- WorkCam does not store passwords (uses OAuth)
For important data, we recommend using each cloud's additional security options.
What happens to data if I disconnect cloud?¶
Disconnect
When disconnecting:
- Auto sync stops
- Files in cloud remain as is
- Files on device remain as is
Sync will resume when you reconnect.

Restore¶
How do I restore files from cloud?¶
Cloud Restore
- Access cloud service web/app
- Find files in WorkCam folder
- Download
Or reconnect to WorkCam and sync will automatically restore files.

I got a new device, how do I get my photos?¶
New Device Restore
- Install WorkCam on new device
- Connect same cloud account
- Start sync
- Cloud media will automatically sync
