Taking Photos

Detailed guide on how to take photos with Workcam.


Basic Shooting Method

Step 1: Open Camera

Tap the Camera icon () in the bottom navigation bar.


Step 2: Confirm Photo Mode

Confirm that the shutter button is a white circle. If in video mode (red circle), tap the mode switch button to switch to photo mode.

Step 3: Compose Your Shot

  1. Position your subject in the center of the viewfinder
  2. Adjust zoom with pinch gesture if needed
  3. Use the grid lines to level your shot

Step 4: Focus

  1. Tap on the area you want to focus on
  2. When the focus indicator turns green, focus is achieved
  3. If focus fails, tap again or adjust your distance

Step 5: Capture

Tap the Shutter button (white circle) in the center.

When capture is complete, you'll hear a shutter sound, and the just-captured photo appears in the bottom left thumbnail.


Advanced Shooting Techniques

Manual Focus Adjustment

  1. Tap on the screen where you want to focus
  2. Drag the sun icon next to the focus indicator up or down to adjust exposure

AF/AE Lock

When you want to lock focus and exposure:

  1. Long press on the focus point (about 2 seconds)
  2. "AF/AE Lock" indicator appears
  3. Focus and exposure are now maintained even if you recompose
  4. Tap anywhere on the screen to release

Burst Shooting

When you want to quickly capture multiple shots:

  1. Rapidly tap the shutter button repeatedly
  2. A photo is captured with each tap

During burst shooting, some photos may be delayed depending on save speed.


Timer Shooting

When you need self-capture or shake prevention:

  1. Tap the Timer icon () at the top
  2. Select your desired time (3 seconds/10 seconds)
  3. Tap the Shutter button
  4. Photo is automatically captured after countdown

Using Shooting Modes

Normal Mode

  • Scenes with high contrast between bright and dark areas
  • Backlight situations
  • Indoor shots including windows

After Shooting

Immediate Review

Tap the thumbnail in the bottom left after shooting to immediately view the captured photo.


Delete and Reshoot

If you're not satisfied with the photo:

  1. Tap the thumbnail to open the photo
  2. Tap the Delete icon ()
  3. Confirm deletion and reshoot

Before Shooting

  • Confirm GPS location recording is enabled
  • Check sufficient storage space
  • Verify lens is clean

While Shooting

  • Use grid lines to level your shots
  • Shoot overall scene first, then details
  • Capture important areas from multiple angles

After Shooting

  • Add tags for classification
  • Record situation with notes
  • Confirm cloud sync

Troubleshooting

If photos are blurry

  1. Check if the lens is clean
  2. Hold the device steadily while shooting
  3. Capture when focus is achieved
  4. Use Night mode in dark environments

If photos are too dark or bright

  1. Tap the screen to adjust exposure
  2. Use the exposure adjustment slider
  3. Try HDR mode
